Laura Silva Aparicio graduated in Universidad Central de Venezuela and specialized in commercial law in the same university. She joined Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque in 1981, and became partner in 2001.
María Milagros Nebreda
Maria Milagros joined HPCD in 1988, where she is the partner in charge of coordinating the intellectual property division. She previously worked at the Venezuelan Institute of Foreign Trade, gaining experience in intellectual property matters and community law. She also worked at Banco Consolidado, developing expertise in foreign exchange control and banking law.
Jorge Acedo joined Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque in 1993 and he became partner in 1996. He specializes in the corporate area, focusing on mergers, acquisitions and banking.
Luis joined Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque in 1994. He is the head of the Life Sciences and Healthcare practice area, and he also plays a fundamental role in other practice areas, such as Contracts, Mergers and Acquisitions; International Trade, Investments, Banking, Finance, Competition, Foreign Exchange Control; Energy, Natural Resources, Utilities and Environmental Law; Real Estate; and Tax.
Patricia began her career as an intern in HPCD (former Bentata Hoet & Asociados) in 1990, and became equity partner in 2003. She worked as a foreign legal counsel at Office Kirkpatrick (Belgium) from 1996 to 1998, and as an intern at Boden, De Bant, De Brauw, Jeantet & Uria (Belgium) in 1992.
Carlos joined Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque in 1996 and became a partner in 2006. After he got his law degree, Carlos specialized in civil litigation, where he gained vast experience, also extending his career to alternative dispute resolution.
Miguel Ignacio Rivero-Betancourt is partner of Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque since 2007. Before joining the Firm, Miguel was partner at Perez Duin, Gutierrez, Da Corte & Rivero Abogados; associate at Mantellini & Asociados, and he did an internship in Baker and Hostelter and in the legal department of Exxon Exploration Company in the United States of America.
José Gregorio Torrealba
José Gregorio became equity partner in 2012 and is the head of the Public Law practice area and of the National and International Commercial Arbitration Section of the Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution area. He joined the Firm in 2004 as an Intellectual Property associate and then he became a member of the Public Law practice area as junior partner in 2007.
Jesús is partner of Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque since 2012, when he took charge of the Tax area of practice. He has extensive professional experience in tax consulting, tax planning, corporate restructuring, international taxation, assistance in administrative and jurisdictional processes involving taxation and exchange control.
Pablo Benavente is partner of Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque since 2013. He coordinates the Labor and Social Security practice. Pablo has extensive experience in corporate and labor matters, and in safety and health in the workplace.
Hugo has been HPCD’s IP General Manager since 2001 and became a partner in 2010, gaining vast experience in patents and trademarks.
Alicia joined HPCD as an attorney in 2001, and has been a Partner since 2013. She worked as a Legal Assistant at Adair Law Firm in New York, USA. during 1996-1998, and also as Legal Assistant for Peter Winship, Specialist in International Commercial Law at Southern Methodist University in Texas, USA during 1998-1999.
María Elena Subero
Ever since she joined Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque in 1997, María Elena has been an important member of the Labor and Social Security practice. She brings all of her experience for clients that, before making any important decisions for their corporations, consult her as their go-to person.
Juan Enrique Aigster
Juan Enrique is partner at Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque since 2013. Upon his return to the Firm in 2007, Juan Enrique developed the real estate practice area, using his extensive experience in the field, which makes him one of the leading professionals in Venezuela for this area, without disregarding Juan Enrique’s corporate experience.
John joined Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque in 2000 as an associate and is now one of HPCD’s partners, after experiencing continuous growth within the Firm. During his career, John has specialized in labor law.
Mark Melilli joined Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque as partner in 2013. Prior to joining the Firm, Mark was partner in Mangieri Benavente & Asociados, junior partner in Grau García Hernández & Mónaco, and associate in Anzola Raffalli & Rodríguez and Araque Reina Sosa Viso & Pittier.
Marcia joined Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque in 1997, and in 1999, she was promoted to Junior Partner in the contracts, mergers and acquisitions practice area, representing and providing legal assistance to national and international clients.
Since she joined Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque in 2001, Nathalie has been a vital member of the tax practice area. She specializes in taxes and international taxation and has extensive knowledge in accounting that brings added value to her practice, as well as ample foreign exchange expertise.
Joaquín joined HPCD in 2012 and became partner in 2016. He worked as International Trademark Counsel at Dineff Trademark Law in Chicago, USA, where he gained a valuable international perspective.
Delfina obtained a Law Degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV) in 1981. She joined HPCD in 1997, and currently leads the Venezuelan Trademarks Department.
Elina Pou-Ruan joined Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque in 2010. Before joining the Firm, Elina was the Director of KPMG Escritorio Jurídico (2007-2009), associate of the reputable firms Araque, Reyna, Sosa, Viso & Pittier (2004-2007); Mathison Lupini & Ruan (1998–2004) and of the National Integrated Service of Tax and Customs Administration (1995–1998).
Since joining HPCD during 2003, Matías has been advising and establishing strategies in the protection of the Intellectual Property Rights of his clients in Venezuela, on aspects such as trademarks, copyrights, inventions, multiple protection..
José Alberto Ramirez
José Alberto joined Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque in 2005 and became junior partner in 2014. He advises national and foreign companies in matters involving commercial law, contracts, energy, international financing, mergers and acquisitions, real estate and alternative dispute resolution.
Lisette joined Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque in 2008 and became a junior partner in 2014. She is a valuable member of the Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution practice area and a specialist in Civil Procedural Law and Commercial Law.
Mariela Castro Guerrero joined Hoet Peláez Castillo & Duque in 2004 and she has been a valuable member of the firm ever since. She specializes in Labor Law and Social Security.
